In today’s’ English class the fifth graders started this year’s last unit. We will learn how to talk about daily life. 

今日の英語授業では5年生が今年度最後のユニットを始めました。今回は英語で日常生活について話すことを勉強します。

But before that! Last unit was about Japanese events, and this Sunday, it will be the 3rd of March. It will be Dolls Festival! 

でもまず！前のユニットは日本の行事についてで、今週の日曜日は3月3日になります。ひな祭りです！

To celebrate we ate Hina-arare together, They were delicious!

ということで、お祝いにみんなでひなあられを食べました。美味しかったです！

After that, we talked about daily life, and started learning new words. For example, “breakfast”.

その後、日常について話したり、新しい言葉を学び始めました。例えば、英語で朝ご飯は「breakfast」といいます。

Finally, I read the students a book in English. It is called “From Head to Toe”, and the author is Eric Carle. 

最後には、私はみんなに絵本を読み聞かせました。本の名前は「頭から足まで」、作家は「エリック・カール」です。

It is about animals, and what they can do. The page in the picture is about a giraffe that can bend its neck.

話は動物と彼らのできることについてです。写真にあるページは、首を屈せるキリンについてです。

Today’s English class was a lot of fun.
